Our Open Gold DofE Expedition offers young people the chance to complete their training, practice, and qualifying journeys in the UK’s most inspiring landscapes, supported by our experienced and professional team.

The programme begins with an online e-learning course, preparing participants with the knowledge and skills they need before setting out.

Training Day: 7 February 2026 (Cambridgeshire)
An opportunity to learn or refresh essential skills and complete a night navigation exercise, while also giving participants the opportunity to meet their team.

Practice Expedition: 31 March – 3 April 2026 (Lake District)
Focused on developing skills for safe and independent hiking in the UK’s mountain ranges. The week combines training activities with remote supervision as participants progress to hiking independently, using a mixture of campsites and wild camping locations.

Qualifying Expedition : 25-28 August 2026 (Eryri)
Participants complete a four-day, three-night assessed journey. Participants demonstrate their independence, teamwork, and resilience while being remotely supervised by our experienced assessors, meeting all DofE requirements and creating unforgettable memories.
