Complete your Silver DofE expedition with Summit Explorers on a three-day, two-night journey through the southern Peak District. Starting near Ashbourne and finishing near Matlock Bath, participants will travel through varied countryside while building confidence, resilience and outdoor skills.

Participants will walk in small teams, navigate independently, camp for two nights and work together to complete their expedition aim. Our experienced leaders provide safety supervision and remote support while giving each team the independence required by the DofE expedition framework.

These open expeditions can be used as either a practice or qualifying expedition. They are ideal for individual participants, friends wishing to attend together, or young people who have missed an expedition or cannot complete it through their school or usual DofE centre.

Participants booking individually will be placed with a team. The £150 fee includes campsite fees, group equipment, remote tracking, supervision and assessment where required. Personal expedition equipment can also be hired for an additional charge. Identical expeditions are available during the Easter and May half-term school holidays, giving participants and families a choice of dates. Preparation guidance will be provided before departure, ensuring participants understand the kit requirements, expedition standards and arrangements.
