Gain outdoor leadership qualifications with Because It’s There Adventures. The residential will be run near Chesham, Buckinghamshire (we can pick you up from the tube station) on 31 July to 4 August 2026.
This unique opportunity completes of the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Gold Award residential project and achieves Lowland Leader Award (training), Camping Leader Award (assessment) and a 16-hour outdoor first aid qualification.
Any component course of this residential may be also booked separately (LLA training – £185, OFA – £150 & CLA – £125) This will also provide an opportunity for DofE residential candidates to welcome new people and manage the dynamics of a changing group. Residential candidates will take priority, if necessary, we will run additional courses for those not requiring the full residential.
Sleeping accommodation is in tents (your own or provided) supplemented by indoor or tented mess and training facilities plus indoor toilets. Please bring your own outdoor clothing and equipment as most of the training and assessments will be done outdoors.
Residential candidates will plan their meals as a group and share the cost of provisions. Camp fees are included. Mountain Training registration fees are not included. Travel expenses and meals not included in cost.
