How to get the most from your tools and accessories
  • Keep your wash kit in a waterproof bag/container.
  • Don’t bother with make up or shaving kit.
  • Head torches leave both hands free to do what you need to do and also direct the light where you need it.
  • Look for multi-purpose items such as head/neck wear that can be used to stop sunburn, as a beanie for warmth, a face mask against midges etc
Ways to save money
  • Borrow handy tools where you can. Have your family ever been camping? What can your DofE Leader lend you?
  • Visit your local DofE centre to borrow safety gear like survival bags.
  • Share items like toothpaste, toilet roll and hand wash with your team.
  • Use your DofE Card to save at least 10% on expedition kit at our recommended retailers.
