As a Licensed Organisation you can use the DofE’s logo and branded resources to promote DofE at your organisation. Find out how to use the DofE logo below, and learn about the DofE Brand Centre – our library of customisable marketing materials to help you promote DofE and recruit new participants.

DofE logo

Licensed Organisations can use the DofE logo to promote their DofE activity. It’s been specially crafted, so the lettering is unique to us. When using the DofE logo;

  • Never recreate the logo or any of its elements
  • You must always use the master artwork provided
  • Do not squash or distort the logo
  • Don’t just copy the logo to use on printed items, it is too low quality. Download the proper artwork below
  • The DofE letters, word, name and logos are Registered Trademarks ®, they must not be used for commercial gain unless a written licence is in place
  • If you are using the DofE logo on a plain background, you can use the cut-out logos from the downloadable file below. If you are using the DofE logo over a photo, please use the solid logos to ensure the logo is readable
  • For further guidance on using the DofE logo, please see the

Bespoke DofE logos

If you would like a customised DofE logo with your Licensed Organisation/DofE Centre name as a descriptor to the right of the core DofE logo, you can create this using our . This is a free service, you will just need to create a free Brand Centre account if you don’t already have one. Once you have created your logo, the DofE Team will need to approve the logo before it can be downloaded.

(No job titles, personal names, expedition team names, slogans, event titles, or descriptive text can be included. Customised logos may not be used by AAPs, please use the approved AAP logos.)

Authorisation

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award logo is a registered trademark, and must only be used by those authorised to do so.

All Licensed Organisations are authorised to use the logo and they can in turn authorise their DofE centres and groups to use it.

In line with the updated licence, Licensed Organisations are not able to authorise activity providers or commercial organisations to use the logo. All such requests must be forwarded to the DofE charity at .

DofE Brand Centre

provides you with the tools and support to produce exciting resources to help you inspire and encourage young people to join your DofE programme and develop their skills for life and work, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future.

Within the Centre you will find a range of templates for posters, banners, leaflets and more, that you can easily customise to create eye-catching co-branded materials to help you promote the DofE in your area. You’ll also find a selection of photos to help bring your materials to life, DofE logos – you can create your own customised logo with the name of your Licensed Organisation or DofE centre, and the DofE brand toolkit to support you to use the DofE brand.

You don’t need any specialist software to create any of our materials, everything can be done online and there is plenty of flexibility to customise the resources to suit your individual needs, including choosing colours and images, and space to add your own text, logo and contact details.

Materials can be downloaded for free for you to print yourself or send to a preferred printer, or professionally printed through the Centre at a cost.

Brand Toolkit

The DofE brand identity is distinct to the charity; designers should follow these guidelines to ensure our marketing, materials and content is cohesive, consistent and recognisable.

Promoting your group

We all know how important publicity can be. On a local level, it can help attract participants to your group, more volunteers to help young people achieve and funding/support from your local community. For Licensed Organisations, a higher profile can help secure the funding and support needed to ensure the DofE is run efficiently, gives participants a high quality experience and local centres/groups get the support they need.

Nationally good publicity helps us secure funding and means we can work on developing DofE programmes so we can inspire more young people and give them the opportunity to take part in the future.

We’re always on the lookout for inspirational stories and great photos from DofE groups throughout the UK to use on our website, in our annual review, on social media and of course through PR. Send your story and any photos to [email protected].
