Welcome to the DofE in Northern Ireland
Kate Thompson – Director
Role: Kate has overall responsibility for the management and development of the DofE in Northern Ireland through dedicated staff, Northern Ireland Ambassador Network and DofE Manager Committees, Licensed Organisations and the wider DofE network.
Kate is a Gold Award holder and says doing her DofE changed her life. She is a keen hillwalker, traveller and photographer and a canoe/kayak instructor in her spare time.
Julie McGimpsey – Operations Officer
Role: Julie is responsible for supporting the delivery of the DofE programme, monitoring and enhancing the quality of delivery, supporting Licensed Organisations and training delivery. Julie is responsible for developing and growing the operation of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award/Joint Award Initiative programme throughout Northern Ireland.
Andi Craig- Expedition Co-ordinator
Role: Andi’s role is to check route cards and maps for DofE Practice and Qualifying Expeditions at all three levels. Andi is responsible for issuing important updates to our network in regards to unusual activities or dangers in our expedition areas. Andi is also a DofE Expeditions Assessor and is a Bronze and Silver Award holder.
James McClements – Administrative Officer
Role: James is responsible for Expedition Assessor Accreditation, Expedition Blue Form notifications, incoming telephone and website enquiries, administration including training courses and to support the other roles.
James is a Bronze, Silver and Gold Award holder and has been involved with DofE through the Boys’ Brigade for 15 years.
Helen Ward – Administrative Assistant
Role: Helen is responsible for incoming telephone and website enquiries, administration including training courses and to support the other roles.
